Index Rebuild - Ability to skip

Hi ES Team!

We are running three virtual machines each with an instance of eventstore running (1 master, 2 slaves).
We have well over 2TB in the ES database, and each time we try to bring the VMs back up, the indexes start to rebuild → with an estimated time to completion of around 40 hours.

We are unsure what the cause of the initial crash was, and it is a somewhat older version of ES.
Is there any way we can skip the index rebuilds or bring the nodes back up to gossip without first rebuilding the indexes?

This is a critical production issue and we are trying to explore all avenues to restore at least one eventstore instance so that our business operations can continue.

We are running:
Event Store 5.0.9.0

The option mentioned in the link below allows you to skip index verification (supported in v5.x). However, if the index has been corrupted, skipping the rebuild may worsen matters. The index is essential for append & read operations. Without more information, we can only advise you to perform the rebuild, as that is the safest route. Note that the version you are on is fairly old and upgrading to our LTS version (23.10 at the time of writing) is recommended.
